Goals & Objectives

The Northwestern Regional Vice President’s Goals and Objectives include plans each RVP submits annually for the RVP year—July through June.  These goals and objectives are intended to support the mission of the Association through the united and collective efforts of each chapter in Northwestern Region.  In order to provide this support, the RVP and RVP-Elect will work with the Section III senior VP and past-RVP in an effort to maximize the leadership, guidance and assistance provided to the region’s chapters.

 1. Maintain communications between the chapters within the Region and AGA National.  
  Objectives:

 

  A.

The RVP or RVP-Elect will make every attempt to visit each chapter during the year promoting AGA at the local level (meeting with the Chapter Executive Committee before or after the meeting if possible).

  B.

The RVP will contact each chapter president via telephone or email offering assistance and advice.

Quarterly

  C.

The RVP will work to re-establish a quarterly regional newsletter to chapters pertaining to current national news including any news from the NEC Section representative.

  D.

Review all National information received and send email letters to chapters monthly as determined by the need.

Help coordinate a sectional leadership meeting (SLM) and facilitate NW chapter roundtable and training workshop.

Follow up on all national office requests for information to insure the Northwestern Chapters are represented.

  G. Re-establish and produce the NW regional website (hosted by Seattle) to provide a useful link for chapter members searching for resources and information. February 2008

2. Maintain Communications among Chapters within the Region.

 

  Objectives:

 

  A.

Develop a regional officer’s directory and distribute to each chapter president.

  B.

Arrange for the exchange of newsletters among the region’s chapters and provide copies of each newsletter to the RVP and RVP-elect.

  C.

Encourage communications among chapter officers on appropriate national and regional issues.

  D.

Through communications with the chapter officers, identify problems and develop effective solutions involving and appraising other officers at the National level as appropriate.

  E.

Encourage Chapters without a website to establish one.

  F. Encourage Chapters to submit information to the re-established Regional website. Continuously

3. Assist chapters in their participation in various activities and programs such as awards, recognition, public service, newsletter, membership, etc., offered by AGA National.

 

  Objectives:

 

  A.

Contact each chapter at least once per quarter encouraging and monitoring participation in the various national or regional programs and activities.

  B.

Encourage and monitor each chapter’s participation in the Chapter Recognition Program.

  C.

Encourage chapters to achieve the membership goals established by National.  Focus on retention.

  D. Contact agency human resources and finance departments to explore ways to promote and recognize the CGFM certification. Continuously

4. Enhance or revitalize existing chapters.

 

  Objectives:

 

  A.

Where chapters are experiencing difficulty, obtain assistance from the National Chapter Assistance Committee in arranging interesting and quality programs and speakers.

  B.

Develop a strategy with local contacts to enhance existing chapters in their membership, leaders, and employers.

  C.

Develop and submit an assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of the chapters in the Region based on the Inventory of Chapter Attributes form.

Review chapter membership attributes and offer assistance to help diversify agency membership, if needed.

5. Place a strong emphasis on educational events in the Region.

 

  Objectives:

 

  A.

Encourage and assist each Chapter to conduct at least 16 hours of CPE during the year.

  B.

Monitor the number of hours of CPE reported by chapters.

  C.

Establish a database of speakers and topics that can be shared among the chapters.

6. Promote active growth and leadership by participating in the RVP Recognition Program and by submitting monthly reports on a timely basis.

Submit the RVP reports by the due date.
