Public Disclosure
& Public Records - Jerry Handfield, Washington State Archivist, Office
of the Secretary of State will make a presentation on: "Document Retention 101
and Why It's Important to You." It will cover the basic fundamentals of
document retention and record keeping, covering the Past, Present, and Future of
public access to public records; the law; and "The System", including the State
and Local Records Committees and the role of the State Archivist.
Tim Ford, who serves as Rob McKenna's Assistant Attorney General for Government
Accountability, will discuss in general Washington State's Public Records Act (RCW
