It is election time, no not them, but for your Board of Directors.  You should be receiving an announcement with an attached Ballot and the opportunity to save, complete, and re-send that ballot; vote online; or mail in your ballot.  PLEASE Vote, it is your Chapter!!  There are several new names on the ballot.  Additionally, we need new Board Members to assist the Board as we plan the 2008 2009 chapter year.

For the 2008 – 2009 chapter year, the Board is going to trying a different mix of meeting locations and styles.  We are planning on alternating our meetings between the Columbia Tower Club and the GAO Training Room.  With this change, the meal fare and cost will alternate between the more restaurant style of the Club and the “brown bag and box lunch” style of the Training Room.  The Board would appreciate your reaction and any suggestions you might have concerning these 2008 2009 plans.

Along with the new meeting mix, we need Luncheon Speakers!  We know they are out there, as was the case with our last two speakers, who are Chapter members.  In your network of work associates and friends, do you know somebody who would be willing to share their expertise and experience?  If you do, contact any of the Board members.  GET Involved, BE Involved!!!

RENEW YOU MEMBERSHIP!!!!  It is that time of the year, so please renew.  I want to thank the 47 of you, as of April 15th, who have already renewed or provided your Agency the opportunity to renew for you.  As a Chapter, we are at a 58% renewal status.  LET”S HIT 100%.

Just a reminder, if you or somebody you know is just starting their career in the governmental financial, accounting or auditing area, we still have Chapter funds to support early career memberships and experienced members with whom they can network.  So please contact our Early Career Chair, Susan Baugh, at baugh@agaseattle.org or our Membership Chair, Robert Gray, at gray@agaseattle.org for more information.

Seattle Chapter President
