The AGA’s Fourth Annual Performance Management Conference is coming to Seattle.  The conference is slated to take place in October 2008, although no dates have been confirmed.  More information will be provided as it becomes available.

  National Leadership Conference Hotel Scholarship

The Seattle Chapter is currently offering a hotel scholarship for any member interested in attending the National Leadership Conference.  The conference is scheduled to take place on February 21-22, 2008 in Washington, D.C. at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center.  The conference offers 14 CPEs.

The conference is centered on the theme “Dynamic Leadership for Changing Times,” and few fields change as quickly as government financial management.  Staying up to date on new regulations, while maintaining a clear vision of government transformation, can be accomplished through the best training.

Top decision-makers, from all levels of government, will lead educational sessions.  The Exhibit Hall will showcase the latest tools to help agencies perform at top efficiency.  Networking events scheduled throughout the conference provide opportunities to swap ideas, meet colleagues from around the country, and perhaps find solutions to common problems.

For more information on the conference, visit the conference website.  For more information on the hotel scholarship, please contact Seattle Chapter president Rick Osborn.

  Congratulations to local SEA winners!

The Seattle chapter congratulates the latest Certificate of Excellence in Service Efforts and Accomplishments (SEA) Reporting Award recipients:

  • Bellevue, Washington
  • King County, WA Government
  • King County, WA Dept. of Natural Resources and Parks Annual National Performance Management Conference

The Certificate of Excellence in Service Efforts and Accomplishments Reporting program was established to encourage and improve performance reporting by state and local governments and to publicly recognize outstanding performance reports.  The program is based on the Governmental Accounting Standards Board’s (GASB) suggested criteria for reporting performance information, which address all aspects of what should be considered for a performance report.

The Certificate of Achievement recognizes those reports that meet the GASB suggested criteria.  Attainment of the Certificate represents a significant accomplishment by a state or local government entity and its management.
