Professional Background

Pat has been a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Washington since 1995.  She began her career in 1986 as a civilian auditor for the Air Force Audit Agency at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho.  In 1987, the U.S. Government Accountability Office hired her for the Twin Cities sub-office and she relocated to GAO’s headquarters in Washington, DC in 1990.  Pat became a senior auditor in the agency’s Accounting and Information Management Division in 1991.  In 1992, Pat transferred to the Seattle GAO Field Office and became an active member of the WSCPA’s Governmental Accounting and Auditing Committee and the Seattle Chapter of the Association of Government Accountants.  She has been involved in the first financial audits of the US Army and Navy.  She audited the Internal Revenue Service for the past 3 years and is currently reviewing the Army's Transformation Brigade Combat Teams at Ft. Lewis, WA.  In 1996, GAO presented Pat with the Meritorious Service Award in recognition of exemplary leadership and outstanding contributions to enhancing GAO’s reputation and position in the CPA community.

The WSCPA recognized Pat as the Outstanding Committee Chair of the Governmental Accounting and Auditing Committee for 1999-2000.   She has been the co-chair and chair of the Government Accounting and Auditing Conference for the past 5 years.  The WSCPA recognized her as the Outstanding Conference Chair in 1996.  With her strong leadership, the conference has had solid attendance and financial success. 
Pat is a board member of the Seattle Chapter of the Association of Government Accountants.  She was president of the Seattle Chapter in 1996 – 1997 and was awarded for superior performance as the chapter president in 1997.

Community Involvement

Outside of the accounting profession, Pat currently volunteers her time to Children’s Services of Sno-Valley in North Bend, WA as a member of the Board of Directors.

Educational Background

Pat received a BS in Accounting and Business Administration with a concentration in Finance in 1985 from Minnesota State University (formerly known as Mankato State University) in Mankato, Minnesota.

Personal Notes

Pat was born and raised in Minnesota (about 50 miles due south of Minneapolis/St. Paul).  Pat has two grown and married sons, Josh and Benjamin and two grandsons – Jacob and Jack.
